For which industries does LubeControl perform lubricant analysis?

For which industries does LubeControl perform lubricant analysis?

Any equipment that operates using lubricants!

A high-quality lubricant is essential for optimal and long-lasting performance. This can be an oil or a grease. However, every lubricant becomes contaminated during use due to high operating temperatures, contact with air, and contaminants such as dust, water, and wear particles. This creates risks that must be detected early to prevent major damage.

The lubricant therefore provides important information about its own condition and the health of the machine.

Select your industry!

Engines

Engine oils

Oil analysis in the automotive sector is a critical factor for the reliability, efficiency, and service life of vehicles and machinery. With LubeControl’s professional oil analysis, you gain precise insights into the condition of your lubricants and equipment.

LubeControl’s oil analysis enables early detection of damage, optimization of maintenance intervals, and prevention of unplanned downtime. Especially in the automotive sector, where time and availability are critical, oil analysis provides a clear competitive advantage.

Gas Engines

Gas Engine Oils

Do you need regular inspections or are you experiencing problems with your gas engine?

Our routine inspection packages are tailored to the requirements of most customers and equipment manufacturers and have proven effective in practice. Contact us for additional parameters or for a program that meets your specific needs.

Industry

Industrial oils for gearboxes, hydraulics, compressors, pumps, etc.

Are you looking for a reliable oil analysis program that can help you significantly reduce your maintenance and repair costs?

A comprehensive and regularly conducted oil analysis program helps detect damage early on, thereby reducing downtime and optimizing maintenance costs. Our testing programs provide an at-a-glance overview of the most important parameters. Of course, additional tests or a customized program are available for an optimal cost-benefit solution.

Our customers include both in-house maintenance departments and service companies that perform these tasks for various businesses.

Fuels

Diesel, Biodiesel, Heating Oil, Marine Gas Oils

No matter what type of fuel you use—contaminants can make life difficult and are often the reason your engine won’t start, especially when it matters most.

Whether you’re responsible for maintaining emergency power generators or want to get your vessel back into service after winter storage—if the storage period is too long, contaminants such as diesel sludge or moisture from tank breathing can lead to unpleasant surprises. Of course, we also offer full-specification testing (EN 590 for diesel fuels, DIN 51603 for heating oils, EN 14214 for biodiesel).

In addition to the results, you will receive a detailed evaluation from us. If you need an analysis program with customized tests, we can implement this for you. Please contact us.

Coolant

Coolants with antifreeze or corrosion inhibitors

Regular coolant analyses have long since become routine—and yet are still mostly underestimated.

An increasing number of engine manufacturers and service companies have recognized and come to appreciate the importance of coolant analysis. It has long since ceased to be sufficient to simply replace the coolant every two to four (or more) years without first examining its condition.

Through a professional analysis, you can determine whether:
  • the coolant is suitable for further use.
  • the correct water quality is being used.
  • there is contamination with other coolants (different additives are incompatible).
  • overheating has occurred, which can lead to the breakdown of ethylene glycol (formation of acidic components) and additives (insufficient protection of metal surfaces against corrosion).

In addition to antifreeze coolants, we also test those without antifreeze, which are usually formulated with corrosion inhibitors.

Generators

Analyses for backup power systems or emergency generators

Backup power systems (BPS) or emergency generators are rarely used, but when they are, they must work.

They are used wherever fluctuations in the power grid or outages cannot be tolerated—in data centers, hospitals, power plants, government agencies, etc. Regular maintenance of these critical systems is therefore essential. Regular test runs, as well as targeted monitoring of the condition of the various equipment, ensure operational readiness in an emergency.

LubeControl offers comprehensive analysis programs for various operating equipment, which can also be customized to meet specific requirements upon request. These include:

Lubricating Greases

Analysis scopes and methods tailored to the specific requirements of this lubricant class

Along with lubricating oils, greases provide essential protection in bearings against friction and wear.

The use of greases is usually intended for a longer period of time. Nevertheless, it is important to monitor their condition regularly in order to detect and prevent damage in a timely manner. Interpreting the data is not always straightforward and requires many years of experience in the field.

If you are looking for a laboratory to test other parameters for fresh greases (e.g., oil separation capacity, Timken test, etc.), please contact us. We can assist you.

Wind Power

Professional Program / Recognized Expertise from Leading OEMs

Extreme conditions—such as low and high temperatures—as well as high mechanical demands, particularly during startup, place daily strain on the gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and bearings of wind turbines.

A comprehensive and regularly conducted oil analysis program helps you detect damage early on, thereby preventing unnecessary gearbox failures, reducing downtime, and optimizing maintenance costs. Additional tests or a customized program for an optimal cost-benefit approach are, of course, available.

Turbines

Turbine Oils

Are you looking for a reliable oil analysis program to help optimize your maintenance costs?

Most turbines have a long service life—up to several decades, depending on the application. They are a critical component of our basic electricity supply and must function reliably. Failure is not an option. Therefore, regular maintenance, including oil analyses, is a must to ensure reliability.

LubeControl offers programs for quarterly routine inspections or (mostly) annual comprehensive inspections. Of course, we can also create a program tailored to your specific requirements.

Transformers

Transformer and Electrical Insulating Oils

Transformer oils are often in service for decades and must function properly.

An analysis provides you not only with information about the condition of the oil, but also about the transformer itself, allowing you to identify potential problems at a very early stage and take timely action. The IEC 60422 standard is THE guideline for the monitoring and maintenance of transformers. Our analysis of transformer oils complies with this standard. We do not limit ourselves to mineral oils, but also test ester- or silicone-based transformer oils.

In addition to our proven analysis programs (see table), we offer additional tests so that you can customize your program:
  • PCB (IEC 61619)
  • Corrosive sulfur (ASTM D1275B / IEC 62535)
  • Flash point (ISO 2719)
  • Interfacial tension - IFT (ASTM D971)
  • Kinematic viscosity at 40°C (ISO 3104)
  • Inhibitor content (IEC 60666)
  • DDF via Conductance and Capacitance (IEC 61620)
  • Irgamet 39 Content (IEC 60666)
  • DBDS - Dibenzyldisulfide (IEC 62697-1)

Customized

Outsourcing / White Label Solution for In-House Analytics

Would you like to expand your services and offer oil analysis as a core offering under your own brand name?

Many companies, such as lubricant manufacturers and distributors or service providers in the maintenance and repair sector, want to offer their customers a comprehensive service to set themselves apart from the competition. Everything from a single source. That is also our guiding principle.

Oil analyses and their expert evaluations are a key component of optimal oil maintenance. Especially in these times, when constant price increases and shortages of lubricants are the order of the day, you can help your customers extend oil change intervals with the help of a professional oil analysis program. Together, we can create a suitable program, preferably under your company name.

Or do you have a small laboratory for specialized testing that you no longer wish to operate due to a lack of qualified personnel or for cost reasons? We have many solutions, including for non-routine tests. Please contact us.
